He Began his career at CalArts, in the Character Animation Program. Where he found his passion for sculpting. He started creating toys and maquettes for local Studios. Rhythm&Hues then asked him to join their CG team as a sculptor. Soon he became a CG modeler working on commercials, ride films and movies. Over the years, James has worked at a number of Animation Studio as a CG modeler and Digital Sculptor for many productions. He often collaborates with their production teams to develop sculptures for Studio Displays, Annual Awards and production runs of crew gift maquettes. He has worked at Disney Feature Animation as a senior modeler on the following projects, “Rapunzel", "Chicken Little", "Meet The Robinsons", "BOLT", Mickey's Philharmagic", "Disney's Dinosaur", "Prep and Landing", “ Kangaroo Jack”, “Snowdogs”, and “ Disney's A Christmas Carol”. He also helped with the Disney Mentor Program, worked with special projects and helped to create Animation maquettes for “Chicken Little “ and “Meet the Robinsons”. he also helped create a crew gift maquette program for the movie “Meet the Robinsons”. He has worked at Dreamworks Feature Animation on the following movies ,WildRobot “, “Badguys2”, “Kungfu Panda4”, "Puss n Boots", "Turbo", "How to Train Your Dragon 2" and “Penguins of Madagascar”. He has also helped with custom animations on a number of commercials for “Puss n Boots 2” and “Kungfu Panda4”. He also works with Dreamworks to develop studio awards and create large runs of crew gift maquettes for multiple production teams. He has also worked at Nickelodeon Animation and Cinesite Animation on "Gnome Alone" and "Addams Family 2". He was the Character Modeling Lead at WildBrain Studios on the Netflix/Sega project "Sonic Prime". He was the head of studio assets and the Modeling Supervisor at Bron Animation Studios for Netflix “ The Willoughby's". He also worked as the VFX Build HOD and VFX Creature HOD for DNEG, Montreal. Where he lead his teams on multiple VFX movies. He is always following his passion for modeling and creating sculptures. He works with multiple productions and studios to create digital and traditional Sculptures for animated projects, annual awards, sculpted displays and crew gift Maquettes.
